Yeah, that's me this morning. Barely conscious. And I shouldn't be, dammit. I got enough sleep. (7 hours, which for me is usually MORE than enough sleep). Anyhow, the brief heads up; we ARE ON for X-Crawl tonight. I would like to start at 6:30 PM or as close to that as humanly possible.

(Note...FMH, that means dinner needs to be ON THE TABLE at 5:30...not just getting started with the cooking. Dinner is burgers & fries or sweet and sour chicken, as you prefer. If you do burgers, don't use more than 2/3rd that pack of meat.)

As always, Tuesdays are a BYOS (Bring Your Own Supper) so we can get started on time, since we HAVE to break earlyish because of Terri and CRWilley. However, feel free to bring any degree of munchies for the game...we're up to 8 players. :) Mightyafrodite said she was nabbing some bevvies, but other than that, we're pretty munchie-free around my place.

X-Crawl is NOT on tonight...we are on the off week of our bi-weekly cycle.

OTOH, I -do- have Sell-Out now (the X-Crawl Players Handbook), and this will be making some pretty -drastic- changes to the game...some will be coming from on high (statistics, X-Crawl rules), some others, you guys would like to look into (endorsement rules, public appearance rules, sponsorship rules). In addition, I'm pretty sure that MOST of you have probably leveled. :) Given that we have so little time on a game night to do paperwork, I'd like to take a look at it tonight, if at all possible. I know mightyafrodite has the LSAT this week; I'm not expecting her. But CRWilley and DadandGirl are already hooking up with my crew, I believe, to do an event at Girl's school. If Hexslinger and Terri were able to blip over at 5:30-ish, I should be able to help them with their parts of things, and then maybe do CRWilley and DadandGirl prior to CRWilley's going to work and DadandGirl viewing the shield. Jadedcat is an X-factor...I'd LIKE her to come, but don't know if she's gonna sans Mightyafrodite.

How does this sound to people? Plausible? Not possible? Talk to me, let me know.

...Or, in other words, it's Return of the King day!!! WOOT! Yes, I'm a big geek. But if you're reading my journal, you're probably a big geek too. So, here's the deal. No tabletop tonight; it's been placed on hold because of the movie release. Instead, there is a big get-together at my place to watch LOTR: ROTK on the home theater system (I'll even -try- to get the surroundsound speakers back up and in place). We're aiming to start at 7 PM...that is when dadandgirl and crwilley should be coming back from taking the girl to Toshindo, and it should be late enough that jadecat and mightyafrodite can make it there after work if they're coming (BTW, -are- you coming? Reply, lemme know. :) ) That way, we can also be done with the movie by the vicinity of 10:30 PM, which means most of our company won't be pushing it -too- late for the staying-of. :)

Dinner; you're on your own. :) I don't have enough this week to feed the masses, so it's BYOG (Bring Your Own Grub). But come, bask in the goodness that is LOTR, and join the geekage.

It's a Monday.
I spent all weekend either packing, moving, or fielding my parents, an activity which most of you know I look forward to about as much as a root canal. No, scrub that. I'd prefer the root canal.
I've dealt with petty student complaints at work this morning.
My boss made a surprise trip in so I could be emergency tech support and fix her laptop.
I had to go into court to schedule a court date to fight some idiots charging vehicle storage fees, for a vehicle THEY BOUGHT FROM ME AND NEVER PAID FOR!
.....only to have to drive all the way HOME, because the deputy didn't bother to tell me I needed the physical copy of the notice they sent me
..........only to run into a -semi- pulled over on the windy part of Barton near my house, TOTALLY blocking traffic (and anyone who knows that neighborhood must wonder WTF a truck is doing in there in the first place.)
Money is tighter than it's been in months.
I need new dental work.
I've got an appointment here in 20 minutes to basically kick a student out of school, which will mean much sobbing and upset.

And you know what?

I don't care. Screw you, Mister Murphy. You and your Law can't mess with me this morning. I'm in too good a mood. I'm riding high on my bipolar cycle, and bouncing around work to the music blaring from my speakers. My precious Boo has her fourth birthday on Tuesday (BTW, any of you reading this are probably basically Boo's family. She's 3 and we just moved...there are NO little kids she can invite to her birthday party (which we are doing Tuesday in lieu of gaming). So please, anyone, everyone...Crwilley, Dadandgirl, Mightyafrodite, Jadedcat, and those others who didn't pop into my brain but are probably there...come make my little girl happy. Just -be- there for sunshine, spirit, and birthday cake. :) ), we're in our new place, and I flat out -refuse- to be brought down today.

Long rant forthcoming. Short news flash: No X-Crawl tonight. Peter Pan (the new, live action, really REALLY good one) will be screening at my place, though; all comers welcome

Okay...we are normally supposed to be on tonight, for our X-Crawl game. Here are some factors that I know of that could prevent that:

A) I'm still sick. Not so much that I won't push through and run anyway, if this is the only remaining factor, but it weighs in with other possibles.

B) crwilley was sick over the weekend. I do not know her current condition. Updates from either her or dadandgirl would be spiffy.

C) Somewhere, somehow, Terri's sheet has gone walkabout. I've turned the place upside down looking for it, and I don't know where it's gone. This means that if she's gonna play tonight, I'm gonna need her and hexslinger to break out the D&D books (either their own, or coming over to my place somewhere in the early afternoon and using mine) so she has a character sheet before 6:30 PM.

D) fmh does not yet have a character sheet. The same as Terri above, this means that if he's gonna play tonight, he needs to bust out the books and generate a starting 3rd level D&D character before 6:30 PM. (Also, as a total aside, dinner tonight = the ham in the fridge. It needs to be -done and on the table- by 5:30 PM if we are going to be able to do this...with CRWilley having to bail by 10 PM at the latest, we -need- to be on time for this.

E) At some undefined point, I have to contact my new landlord today (plan is to call him at 10 AM), and he will specify a time today to meet with him, and bring him a metric ton of cash, with which to receive the keys to the new place...I hope. I have no clue yet what time he will want that meeting to be. If he wants it at, oh, 3 PM, that I can do with no impediment. If he wants it at, say, 7 PM, that pretty much kiboshes the entire plan. I won't know what time that meeting is till I call him; I can't call him till 10. As soon as I do, I'll update the LJ here.

So, what does this mean? It means that I need to hear from all my players for tonight with status reports, so I know what the hell is going on. :) jadecat, mightyafrodite, crwilley, dadandgirl, hexslinger and fmh, please drop a reply to this so that we all know what's going on...the sooner the better for everyone, I'm imagining.

Okay...here's the situation for tonight:

Malea is still sick.

I'm coming down sick (though I can still talk), but a combination of child, cat, and coughing (Cyriael's) kept me up all night. I'd be surprised if I got 4 hours sleep, and even that sure in hell wasn't good solid sleep.

My back and shoulders ACHE from stress, tension, and a 6 hour car drive yesterday.

X-Crawl will NOT be on, in its normal form. -HOWEVER-, most players still need administrivia done. Jadedcat and Mightyafrodite still need all their equipment, everyone needs minis, Terri and Hexslinger need updated character sheets, FMH needs a -character- (and Sexyscholar might, too), CRWilley has updates needed, Dadandgirl had updates needed.

So, I'm declaring tonight bookkeeping night. Basically, show up as if we were gaming, because virtually ALL of you have things I need to do with your character. The only one who MIGHT not need to come is Dadandgirl, because I think he emailed me everything, but I still need things from his wife, so he might as well show anyway. :) Come by, we'll get everything READY, so that we can actually dive back into the nitty-gritty as of the next session. Everyone is welcome to hang till 10 and watch The Shield if they wish. Recommended...this one looks like a must-not-miss episode. :)
